Yankees making moves again

http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_/id/7460297/new-york-yankees-deal-jesus-montero-seattle-mariners-michael-pineda-source-says

It has been a time of anxiously awaiting the arrival to the big leagues for some of their heralded minor leaguers. Probably the most talked about is Jesus Montero, the catcher with question marks behind the plate but not at it. When moved up to the Yankees at the end of last year for a look and a little seasoning Montero managed to hit 28 RBI's in only 18 games while maintaining a batting average well over the .300 mark.

While Montero's bat was expected in the big league lineup and will be missed, the Yanks have other sluggers that can pick up the slack. With this trade, the Yankees bring in a quality young arm that many throughout baseball think could develop into a #1 starter. Playing in the American League and baptished by fire last year Pineda kept his ERA sub 4, steady and solid at 3.74 and he's only 22 years old. Learning under perrenial all-star CC Sabathia shouldn't do anything but help as long as Pineda doesn't follow Sabathia in his eating or shall I say over-eating schedule.

Yanks also sign a possible target of the Red Sox in Hiroki Kuroda.

Boston Bruins Looking to add to the championship trophies on our proverbial shelf

Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins have dominated since their atrocious play to start the season. There was no one person to blame, they were outplayed in every facet of the game on a nightly basis. However, the veterans kept things under control and the team responded by reeling off the longest winning streak of the season in the NHL. At this point there getting contributions from every line and with Tim Thomas playing at the highest level he has EVER played at I think they HAVE TO BE CONSIDERED the Stanley Cup Favorites. I know my money will be on the black and gold

One area that has been a constant throughout the year is....goaltending. Whether Bruins coach Claude Julien goes with veteran and last year's winner of the Venza trophy or elects to start Tukka Rask, trying to find the balance, still keeping both guys sharp incase an injury situation occurs. Just recently Thomas needed a few games to get the proper treatment and lucky enough a situation that could put a team in a deep hole, Boston is able to put in a goalee that actually has an EVEN BETTER SAVE percentage. That's right.

While Tim Thomas is having another monster statistical yaer, his future successor is already in the Bruins uniform and shouldn't even be a consideration to move. Coach Julien has rotated to perfection basically to this point, allowing his goalies enough rest that they dominate like no other teams pairing in the entire NHL. At the current pace they could end up as the best tandem of all-time in the history of the National Hockey League. Let that sink in a little and think back to all of the trade Raske, Cut Thomas, trade Thomas, stop rotating and just play Raske because Thomas is too old, play Thomas because Raske isn't ready yet etc etc.

Here we all are a year later, older, smarter, wiser....and now all the talk is about taking the bruins to the next level and keeping the young pieces together like Tyler Seguin, Raske, and Hornton for years to come. Who knows, we could be watching.....THE NEXT DYNASTY IN BOSTON.

WHO CAN KEEP ALL THESE DYNASTIES APART.

Remember that guys that has such a beautiful swing??? If you have enough booze at your wedding you may be able to meet him in person it seems

Now what would we ever do if we could go a few months straight without someone in the wonderful world of professional sports past or present making a complete fool of themselves.....and someone catching it on camera, and quite possibly getting rich off their new-found paparazzi career.

That's right, future Hall of Famer Wade Boggs was in Mexico on vacation presumably and ended up on the beach, looking quite inebriated, getting awfully cozy with a few of the guests and then trying to get a little too cozy with one party-goers pregnant wife. But to each his own I say, to each his own.

Is this really news? In today's 24/7 365 news cycle, media is and has to be on top of stories happening regardless of the hour, or even place, it can be halfway around the world and if the guy that's 9th on the all time home run list falls down the stairs because he was high the reporter that breaks that story can expect to nice big pat on the back. Personally, I couldn't care less that another guy that I looked up to growing up had a few too many drinks and probably a little too much fun, as far as we know, he didn't hurt himself or anyone else. Were not hearing about the small family he killed driving back to his hotel right now or something ridiculous like that. Hopefully good ol Boggs wasn't too rude in his efforts to bed that married and pregnant women, that husband hopefully at least got a few bats and balls signed to sell on eBay for the hassle. And maybe a few bucks for the photos too. lol.
